Xiaomi is a Chinese brand well-known for high-quality health gadgets and smartphones. In only a few years it has grown massively and became one of the leading manufacturers of mobile phones. Apple, Samsung and the other giants are still number one, but Xiaomi is following them very closely. Motorola was acquired by Lenovo in 2014 and since then, they have only lined up one success after another. Moto E is one of their latest products and as it seems a very good product indeed. These two smart phones Xiaomi Redmi 2 and Moto E (2nd Gen) are available on the market as we speak. Both are budget friendly. Many features of these smart phones are similar to each other while some are different. Some of the main features of these two mobile phones are given below.

Design

The design of both these smart phones is very attractive. However, Xiaomi Redmi 2 is lighter in weight than Moto E (gen 2). The personalized colorful bands of Moto E (gen 2) make it more attractive and nice looking. There is an option of removable back cover as well as removable battery in Redmi 2 which is not available in Moto E mobile.

Display

Moto E (gen 2) is equipped with 4.5-inch TFT qHD (960x450p) screen with special glass which prevents it from getting starched. Xiaomi Redmi 2 has candy-bar design which is somewhat different from its predecessor Redmi 1S. Its features include 4.7 inch HD display with 312 PX resolution.

Camera

It is said that the camera of Xiaomi Redmi 2 is better and more decent than Motorola E. The camera features of Redmi 2 include 8.0 megapixel camera as well as video recording ability on the rear side and 2.0 megapixels camera in the front. While, back camera of Moto E (gen 2) has 5.0 megapixels and is without LED flash and front camera is 0.3 megapixels. One interesting feature of the Motorola camera is its quick capture launcher option which means that one can activate the camera only in a few seconds simply by moving the device twice horizontally.

Battery

The battery power of these smart phones is also good. The battery of Moto E (gen 2) is 2390mAh and that of Redmi 2 is about 2200mAh. It is observed that battery of Moto E cannot be changed while in case of Redmi 2 battery can be changed or removed. Moreover, Moto E (gen 2) has water resistant coating.

Mobile Operating System

The operating system of both these mobile phones is almost the same. In case of Xiaomi Redmi 2, it comes with 4.4.4 Kit Kat Android with MIUI, and people who like it are those who like customizing the phone with short-cuts and change interface themes regularly. On the other hand, Motorola Moto (gen 2) is liked by Android lovers who like clean interface of Lollipop without any scratches and bloats.

Performance and Storage capacity

The Moto E (gen 2) 3G which is now available in the market has 1GB RAM, 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 CPU with Adreno 302 GPU.
On the other hand Xiaomi Redmi 2 is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm, has 64 bit class Snapdragon 410 series SoC (System on Chip) and 1GB RAM. Its LTE modem allows faster download speed near 150mbps and the speed of uploading up to 50mbps.
Moto E (gen 2) and Xiaomi Redmi 2 are equipped with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB.

Price

The price of these two smart phones is almost same and is budget friendly (about $112). The Moto E (gen 2) is easily available on Flipkart.

Budget phones are becoming more and more popular, but not just because of their price. These phones are really good, have decent features and stunning casings. The material used in their production process is more than just ok. These phones are ideal for someone who does not require to have the very best, but will not settle for the minimum either. Nowadays manufacturers make high-quality phones and only details set them apart.

Xiaomi and Moto are two high-quality budget smartphones, and making a decision between the two is not easy. Budget phones nowadays are just a bit of a lesser quality then expensive phones. They look nice, are built from high-quality material and cost less. They also have great features and if you are not looking for the best of the best, then budget phones are something to think about. At the end, everyone chooses what is most eye catching and has at least some of the desired features.
